Seollal in Seoul, Day Three

Our third day in Seoul, we checked out some shopping areas before hitting Technoworld, where John debated over buying himself a new Ipad. We had lunch there, then climbed up to the top of the tower and attempted to take in the view, but were somewhat deterred again by the haze and general bad weather.

After that we headed to Coex Aquarium, where we spent a delightful few hours weaving through the maze of exhibits, after waiting in line for our turn, of course. My favorite part was what I termed "The Hall of Guppy Torture," where guppies were contained in every possible form of tank, including phone booths, vending machines, computer cases, and sinks. It was a nice aquarium overall, and I would recommend a visit if you're in Seoul and don't mind being somewhat herded through by the crowds.

Finally, we headed to our new hotel. We'd decided to spend the last evening in a traditional Hanok house, in Bukcheon village. That was a great decision. The area was so peaceful in the evening that if you could ignore the skyscrapers in the distance, you could easily imagine that you had stepped back in time. We had a fun night there, and enjoyed the cute cafes and such around the guesthouse as well.
